Job Description:
Experienced machine operator with the ability to run multiple waterjet machines on a continuous basis and can identify and resolve problems during a production run, read drawings, and inspect parts on a daily basis using various types of inspection equipment. Must be able to work efficiently in a team environment that is fast paced with a strong commitment and accountability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and switch jobs as required
- Load and unload parts
- Minor machine maintenance
- Identify process problems and communicate problems
- Verify all parts are conforming before signing off on traveler
- Keep track of all scrap
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Perform miscellaneous duties assigned
- Function effectively within a team environment
- Maintain an excellent attendance record
- Daily communication with co-workers, supervisors, and across shifts
Requirements:
- Must have previous machine operator experience or education/training in machining with 2+ years preferred
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Be able to write and document information clearly
- Must have a general understanding of ISO and its process within the company
- Must be able to run parts to spec on a daily basis on multiple machines
- Must be able to read part drawings
- Must be able to use and read micrometers and calipers accurately
- Must be able to calculate dimensions and tolerances
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Perform any other task as needed by the company
- Experience with conventional milling, grinding, and turning is a plus
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- While performing the duties the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.
- The employee must frequently lift or move up to 35 pounds.
